I am fascinated by AI, having followed its progress keenly for a long time, experimenting with it in varying ways to explore its nature and by extension my own.
The process began by asking ChatGPT to write a documentary about itself, covering everything from the history of human-computer interaction to AI's implications for human spirituality. Without editing the output, I separated the entire text into individual lines or scenes.
These machine-generated prompts became the foundation for a human response. I travelled across cities and environments in the UK, filming footage that reflected each line from my own artistic interpretation. Each shot serves as an organic answer to a mechanical question, creating a tangible feedback loop between human and machine consciousness.
The result is a collaborative piece where artificial and human intelligence bounce off each other, manifesting the experiment's core intention through their interaction.
It's pretty boring and unwatchable, but it was a lot of fun to make. I learnt more than I could have hoped for during this process.
