For Ministry of Sound's Ibiza Anthems show, fronted by previous clients Ellie Sax and Laserboywonder with a full live band, I was tasked with creating visuals that would transport audiences from rainy British fields to the heart of the White Isle. The 90-minute spectacular delivers anthem after anthem in innovative combinations, taking viewers on a journey from pre-flight excitement to sunrise beach wandering.

Rather than rely on literal representation, the narrative was built through carefully curated stock footage interwoven with original content that captured Ibiza's essence rather than its geography. Each second of the 90-minute show received at least five minutes of meticulous attention, with extensive hand keyframing ensuring perfect synchronisation with the music, resulting in a level of customisation and synchronicity rarely seen in stage shows of this calibre.

The creative vision demanded visuals that could both melt minds and warm hearts whilst maintaining perfect photogenic appeal. Each of the 42 tracks required its own distinct identity while flowing seamlessly as one cohesive experience. Drawing from my DJ background, I approached the visual programming like mixing records - treating each element as a visual instrument to be blended and beatmatched.

The technical execution combined multiple approaches. Nostalgic sections featured prismatic stop-motion animations creating dreamy, euphoric effects, while late-night sequences employed sound-reactive content developed in TouchDesigner and Resolume to amplify the intensity. Close collaboration with Laserboywonder ensured precise coordination between video content and laser programming, directing audience focus throughout the journey.

The show's technical infrastructure - combining pyramid LED panel assembly with LED screens - provided unprecedented control over the visual experience. This dual system allowed for dynamic interplay between pure light and video elements, creating dramatic tension and maintaining the audience's engagement throughout.

Bold, accessible creative choices ensured the production remained visually striking and immersive for audiences of up to 10,000, while simultaneously generating highly shareable social media content. The careful balance of scale and detail meant that whether viewed from the front row or the back of the field, through a phone screen or in person, the visual narrative remained compelling and cohesive.
